Under the cover of scientific interest, these three episodes of Horizon were actually concerned with addressing the increasingly widespread public scepticism about Climate Warming. In this way, they actually expose the deep hurt that the scientific community is feeling as a result of the climate warming controversy. Hurt, however, that is entirely focussed on the fault of the 'Other'—that's you or me and anyone else who is not a subscriber to any one of the views representing the scientific "consensus." Like a small child that cannot perceive its own contribution to the mess in which they stand, the only fault Scientists see is the failure of the Other to understand them. And the only Remedy they will consider is to whine away: Why doesn't anybody understand me?

Recently, a video has been doing the rounds, creating some excitement—and some healthy scepticism—by pointing to the amazing structure of a protein, within the human body, called 'laminin.' Answers-in-Genesis published a response to the laminin excitement, essentially saying that it is misplaced because it is based upon a worldview that elevates human reason above scripture.

A friend wrote and asked me what I made of these seemingly conflicting viewpoints. Here's how I see it. If the original 'celebration' of the relationship between Laminin and the Cross—featured in the You-tube video—is the thesis, and the article from Answers-in-Genesis (AIG), below, is the antithesis, then I take a (post-modern) line somewhere between the two.
